Sometimes you have to wait. Sit back and watch things happen. You’ve done the work: written the play, workshopped the play, submitted the play.
But you have to wait.
This year, we saw some more fruits from our waiting. More fruits from our investment in the work of Black Playwrights. It’s simple for us. A reading and hopefully soon, a podcast. But what we keep doing is supporting you. Supporting your work with an open door. There are bumps in the road, for not everything is perfect, but what we do try to do is listen to you.
We want to be better for you.
2018 will be our 10th year. In September, we will have existed (survived) a decade as a monthly series for Black Playwrights from the African Diaspora.
Let me say that again.
In September, we will have existed (survived) a decade as a monthly series for Black Playwrights from the African Diaspora… in New York City.
Find below some current news from featured playwrights of the past. We are so proud to have been part of their journeys, however long or short. We were there and want to continue to be there on your journey, but our door can only remain open if you are there for us too.
Like last year, #GivingTuesday began our annual #5Kin30days campaign.
Helps us make our needs for the year: rent, stipends and studio space for our podcast. Can you help us make it happen?
