We’ve got a lot of readings this season and we are excited to meet actors that we have not worked with before! With Submissions being accepted for the 2nd Annual Black Motherhood and Parenting New Play Festival, and finalists being selected for the 2nd Annual Obsidian Theatre Festival we are seeking actors for our readings.
Six Semi-finalists from each festival will receive a Blackboard reading.
ABOUT the Black Motherhood and Parenting New Play Festival:
Blackboard Plays and Parent Artist Advocacy League (PAAL) partner to uplift the experiences of Black Parenthood. The Black Motherhood and Parenting New Play Festival was established to tell stories from Black Playwrights with families. Or inaugural festival in 2021, was a national and digital festival with partner theatres, Bishop Arts Theatre Center in Dallas, TX; Detroit Public Theatre, Oregon Shakespeare Festival and The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis.
ABOUT Obsidian Theatre Festival:
Obsidian is a hybrid theatre festival with virtual and in-person performing arts events, as well as ancillary offerings. During its inaugural year, Obsidian featured emerging Black artists, actors, directors, and playwrights from Detroit. Learn more at obsidianfest.org
