Blackboard Plays and PAAL partnered in 2020 to present the first Black Motherhood and Parenting New Play Festival (#BMPFest). #BMPFest focuses on the stories of Black families, making a home for Black parents and caregivers. The festival is fully virtually creating an accessible space for writers who are also Black parents or caregivers across the country. It is now in its 3rd Season. Learn More at www.bmpfestival.com
Founded in 2020 The Obsidian Theatre Festival is an invigorating celebration of Black Stories in Detroit, produced by Detroiters. The festival features the work of emerging Black voices, illuminating the rich diversity of the African American experience.
