ABOUT THE PLAY: Zenobia is brought to United States as an infant by her West African parents, who are in search better way of life. Now, sixteen years later, the hard working parents are so deep in debt that they may lose their car, their home, and most importantly…their daughter. They decide to do the unthinkable to save her…and themselves.
We’ll be working on casting and selecting a director for our December Feature, “Maybe a Mexican” to be held in The Mary Rodgers Room at The Dramatists Guild on Friday December 7th. Learn a little bit more about the play and submit yourself if interested.

LORI MINOR is October’s Feature Playwright with “The Coping Mechanism” – Catherine and Paul Harrison decided to support their daughter’s way of coping after a tragic accident, by keeping the spirit of her brother “alive” in their home through her imagination. However, over time, they’ve begun to realize that the choice isn’t helping them to move forward and may be hurting, more than healing their wounds.
In response to the tragic Hurricane Maria destruction, The Dramatists Guild is sponsoring a Puerto Rican Theater Festival in New York in collaboration with the Cherry Lane Theatre. Please RSVP for the readings July 10-14, 2018.
