Women’s Community Night – TONIGHT: Tuesday, April 28, 2026, 7pm – IN PERSON!!

Blackboard is thrilled to host a Community Night this evening with a special twist!

But first things first… it’s been a while… What is a Community Night?!

If this is your first time here, a Community is like an “open-mic” night for Playwrights.

PLAYWRIGHTS: If you’ve got some pages (you can bring virtual pages if you need) that you want heard, a Community Night is the PERFECT place!

ACTORS: Bring YOURSELVES, and be ready to cold-read up to 10 pages of new work!

This one will be open to Female-identified playwrights, so if you have a couple pages (up to 10), come on by! Playwrights will be responsible for your own pages, so please bring copies. If that feels prohibitive, please reach out to us! ACTORS of all gender-indentities are welcomed to attend!

It’s always best to arrive prior to 7:30pm so that you can gather pages and cast. That’s the beauty and the fun of a community night!

REMEMBER, this event is IN PERSON. We’ll be at the Producers Hub offices at 561 7th Avenue on the corner of 7th and 40th.

Last week, Blackboard Plays Founder , Garlia Cornelia Jones went to check out the space!

If you’re interested in tonight’s community night, we’d love to have you! RSVP using the button below! We’ll have some refreshments with us as well!

We hope to see you soon!
